Our Training Service
Training for Working & High-Drive Dogs
Our training service is built specifically for dogs that require more than basic obedience. Working and high-drive breeds are intelligent, driven, and highly responsive to their environment — but without clear structure and communication, that same drive can quickly become frustration, reactivity, or chaos.
At The Working Class, training is not about quick fixes or surface-level obedience. It’s about building a clear line of communication between you and your dog, creating structure that makes sense to them, and developing behaviours that hold up in the real world.
We focus on clarity, consistency, and accountability — for both dog and owner.
What Our Training Focuses On:
- Clear communication between dog and handler
- Structured engagement and focus under distraction
- Impulse control and state management
- Loose lead walking and handler awareness
- Recall and responsiveness in real-world environments
- Boundary setting within the home and outside
- Confidence building for uncertain or reactive dogs
- Channeling drive into appropriate, controlled outlets
Our approach is balanced, practical, and tailored to the individual dog in front of us. We don’t apply a one-size-fits-all method — we assess your dog’s temperament, drive level, and behavioural patterns, then build a plan that works for them.
Training may include the use of appropriate tools depending on the dog and the goals we’re working toward. Everything is introduced clearly, fairly, and with the intent of improving communication — not suppressing behaviour without understanding it.
Many dogs perform well in controlled settings but struggle when it actually matters — on walks, around distractions, or within the home. That’s why our training focuses heavily on real-world application.
We work in environments where your dog naturally struggles, helping them learn how to make better decisions under pressure, not just in ideal conditions.
Training doesn’t stop when the session ends. For long-term success, structure needs to be maintained consistently at home.
We guide you through how to handle your dog day to day, giving you the tools and understanding needed to maintain progress. The goal is not dependency on us — it’s giving you the confidence to lead your dog properly.
High-drive dogs don’t need less structure — they need the right structure.
When expectations are clear and communication is consistent, behaviour becomes predictable, stress reduces, and your dog becomes easier to live with.
We don’t try to take the drive out of your dog.
We teach you how to live with it — properly.
